current affairs

I'm considering setting myself a current affairs challenge. I haven't really thought much about it but it would be something like read a newspaper everyday or every other day and summarise/comment on the stories and give my opinions in a post. However, there are many flaws to this idea since 1) I don't have the means to buy a newspaper everyday since we don't have subscriptions or anything 2) I don't particularly enjoy reading newspapers, to me they're like rocket salad. I don't particularly like it but I will eat it once every so often or if it is served with my food. 3) I am very opinionated and can easily be rude and offensive without realising so I don't really think I should share that on the internet, even if only about 10 people read my blog. On the other hand, it would be good to keep up to date on current affairs, and I want to work in law in the future so I do need to know about whats going on with the world. Actually even more recent, I have a work experience placement at the House of Lords this summer so I want to make a good impression and sound reasonably bright and aware of my surroundings. Oh, another problem is that I'm supposed to be spending my time revising for my GCSE exams right now.

I might revisit this idea during the summer holidays when I become bored of laying about the house doing nothing all day for almost 8 weeks. That'd actually be a good way to make sure I do something of worth this summer.
